MY OLD FRIEND STEVE KORHORN (Eagles '85) WAS WRONG about significance of college

MY OLD "FRIEND" (or not?), STEVE KORHORN, WAS WRONG about
significance of college:

I remember shortlya fter I graduated from calvin college with academic honors and did a few social things with steve, he kept saying "I didn't have to go to college to tell you that". He was clearly aiming his remarks at me. He was clearly angry or jealous of me being a so-called "college boy." This is not uncommon in a lot of working class people, but I didn't expect it from a "friend."

Korhorn thought college should indicate we are brilliant and prophetic and almost-God in all things we do if we went to college.  Actually, what college represents is simply we get the ticket that opens doors to lots of jobs...It shows we have perseverance. It shows we have good character, decent competence and intelligence, etc. It does NOT mean we are Albert Einstein and can invent the atom bomb.
