The HOLLAND KID LEADS REDKSINS TO 1st PLACE! "Redskins beat Giants 20-14 to pull into NFC East tie at 5-6"
I call Kirk Cousins "the holland kid" because he attended Holland Christian high school (& I don't know but presume hr grew up in holland. I don't know if he has Dutch-American heritage like so many of us who grew up in west Michigan & attended the CRC-affiliated Christian schools, but maybe. Anyways, its fun to cheer for somebody from our hometown who made it to the big time. By the way, I attended the rival of Holland Christian Hs ,namely Grand Rapids Christian. But I taught (briefly) at the Christian middle school that feeds into the high school. And despite being rivals we also consider the holland Christian kids our brothers & sisters in Christ. And a lot of us who went on to Calvin College attended school with fellow hollanders. Were all one family, including Kirk Cousins. I assume he's a Christian, albeit apparently he's not a evangelical Tebow-type.Hopefully he does his evangelism in one way or another. And he's doing OK,if not perfect, with the redskins. They're in 1st place, now,or tied for 1st,so that says something, right?! Maybe he will grow into one of the great ones!
